At last, our clever anti-spam technology employed on this ere blog thing has been worked out and defeated by our eery hacker friend, damn him (or her)!
Well sussed out my friend, now it's my turn to come up with a suitable coding riposte. It's all good practice you know, as I could simply disable guest postings, but where would be the fun in that?
Unless of course it all gets too much and I am forced into doing something drastic. But I doubt that will happen, my post-spam blasting device still works well.

Nah, I have a funny feeling it's the same person that tried to break my previous attempt at secure(ish) guest posting.
If this person was really pissed with me, he/she would be using his script more than 10 times per spamming.
I haven't seen a huge flurry of entries, and so far everything has been pretty straightforward.

Are you sure you don't enter some kind of fugue state in the middle of the night and stay up all night hacking your own site. Multiple personality disorder...it would explain a lot.
If it is, then the knowledge required to do what has been done is not transferrable from one state to another. Which is disappointing to say the least.
I believe from my reading that multiple personalities are quite often completely seperate individuals with different knowledge and skills and there is no transfer of abilities, although there may be shared memory from prior to the 'split'.
Personalities can also seemingly work against each other seemingly to sabotage the other identities lives and careers.

As a temporary fix, I have disabled URLs on all guest postings.
Are they using a script of some sort to post the links, because otherwise it seems a sad lonely kind of existence for what is probably a pittance of an affiliate fee.

I believe it will be a script, but at the end of the day it can be as simple as a local version of this form, with maybe even a topic id selector. I would assume there would be some kind of automation going on though.
The temporary fix has now become permanent.
