In addition to the DNS blocking measures, all my hard SEO work would have been for nothing, as all search engines within the US would have to delist this site. We would have no recourse in this, as we certainly couldn't afford any kind of legal department to fight for this site in the US. So that would simply mean that we would be silenced forevermore. There would be no point in registering another domain, unless we could somehow find the "infringing" links and remove them. But we wouldn't do that. If we can't have the link to whatever content we want, then there is simply no point in continuing the venture, and free speech would be trampled upon. There would be no ticket back for us. Maybe I'll post more later. But one thing is for certain SOPA, PIPA, and any future bill like these MUST be stopped, or we are all truly fucked.

Excellent post there DK, I was thinking of posting a similar type affair myself, but it looks like you beat me to it. But yes, SOPA/PIPA is a big problem for the little guys like this here site, which is why we blacked out the site yesterday in support of the #SOPAblackout campaign ( you can still see the blackout page here: http://www.sensibilium.com/sopa_site.html ). Just to ease any confusion here, when a site is "taken down" this does not mean that the site itself is gone, and can usually be accessed by surfing to the IP address instead - this would NOT be the case for most of us small guys who pay for our hosting out of our own pockets, as a static IP costs extra money (most small sites are run on shared or semi-dedicated hosts). So a DNS block on this site would be devastating, leaving only VPN, proxies, and proxy-like sites providing the ability to access this site...

Oh, clearly I wasn't aware of that. The prolem still exists though that the people I know that are playing SWTOR are spread across four servers.

So I er have made the plunge too. Just waiting on the client to d/l and install. So could be a while. Can we onbe character per server? I would assume so, as that seems to be the general rule. Am looking at Sith Bounty Hunter as one possibility. Republic something-or-other on another server.

Thanks for the info, dk. I'm seriously considering going for this. Not sure whether I'd have to pay GBP or Euro's though. I shouldn't think it would be a geographical thing if I'm paying from a UK bank. I guess I'll find out once I've decided to take the plunge.

No vids? I know you've uploaded some, or are they coming in another post? Also, can someone let me know how much swtor is per month? UKP/EU only please. Canadian dollars are rubbish (for me).

You just have to use the img tag, but I personally would leave it as I have new code that will resize any hotlinked image to a maximum of 100%, but it will take some time to implement. /OblongOrange

@mr orange yeah you need reasonable modern tech to hit hte critical threshold after which point swtor runs pretty well maxxed out. but a desktop with that tech can run you less than 500$ @lyric, i return totally certifiable this time! XD @jose if you have any questions you can DM me on twitter i suppose.

So the pull of the force was too strong for me, I was going to wait until the square tangerine was back in the uk and able to play but wth. Just getting to grips with the basics as a Republic Trooper atm but will look at getting on the same server when I have got the hang of things.

Next job: The big one, converting Thud into blog posts, adding the ability to list books as part of a series. IE: Thud contains several books, which means that I will need to add a series identifier for the book entries and the article entries too. It will also mean an additional page is required for handling such things. As I say, a big job that will mean converting parts of the database, and hence risk the loss of data somewhere along the line.

the owner can easily get them put back up instantly if they fill out the counter claim form fully and correctly and send it to youtube. at least according to my lawyer associate and youtube partner from irc, who is well versed enough in copyright/IPR law to give an opinion on this stuff.
