Excellent post there DK, I was thinking of posting a similar type affair myself, but it looks like you beat me to it. But yes, SOPA/PIPA is a big problem for the little guys like this here site, which is why we blacked out the site yesterday in support of the #SOPAblackout campaign ( you can still see the blackout page here: http://www.sensibilium.com/sopa_site.html ).
Just to ease any confusion here, when a site is "taken down" this does not mean that the site itself is gone, and can usually be accessed by surfing to the IP address instead - this would NOT be the case for most of us small guys who pay for our hosting out of our own pockets, as a static IP costs extra money (most small sites are run on shared or semi-dedicated hosts). So a DNS block on this site would be devastating, leaving only VPN, proxies, and proxy-like sites providing the ability to access this site...
