I don't know why I say goodbye, I say hello.
So job done-ish, I'm now posting from my fresh XP Pro installation, and everything seems to be going swimmingly so far, not got around to installing the rest of the software such as Office, WS_FTP, Sage, etc., etc. but that can wait until I've downloaded and installed all the updates from Windows Update. From my fresh installation of XP Pro SP1, there were three updates awaiting my download at first (BITS, summat else, and WGA), got them, they installed without drama, rebooted and returned to Windows Update to see what it had in store for me. Currently I'm downloading thirty (30!) updates, and that's before installing SP2!
Phew mamma, what a lot of updates. Which is why the XP Setup makes me laugh so much when it states that XP is secure and reliable!
