You need to check out what the peeps at plask.net have done with Quake 3.

Here be the page.

I suppose it wasn't that fun setting the bugger up tho.

EXTRA! EXTRA!

I'd sell all but two of them monitors as otherwise I'd be playing ith a strange feeling I was a fly.

Sell them? Are you mad?!

Don't answer that. ;)

There's an HP flash formatting utility that can make any usb flash drive bootable. i've never tried the format /s option in DOS, maybe that will work too. And all of this is dependant the ability of your BIOS to boot USB drives.

As far as repair is concerned, Winiternals ERD Commander is the bomb (said with an ultra elecutionised English accent).

The monitor thing. Too many monitors. Surely projecting one wide image onto a curved surface would be easier. I think this would create the desired field of view without the broken appearance of a multi monitor setup.

From a technology standpoint though, top marks.

...Adding to the USB thing, I read somewhere why placing NTFS on a Floppy was a bad Idea. Simply that the overhead consumed most of the disk's capacity. With utilities other than windows, it is possible, thus havign a bootable NTFS USB drive with tools that can read NTSF partitions would still be useful. Having a CLI version of HiJackThis would be amazing on a USB Drive.

Obviously the multi-monitor setup is not about getting the very best picture, otherwise as you said, they could have used a projector. Would they have been able to achieve the same huuuuge resolutions?

I think the test was simply, "Can we do this?"

Not sure anyone other than Bernhard Matthews Turkey use floppy disks. I bet they're still using 5.25" too. Chickway One, ptah.

Not sure my laptop can boot from USB (would have to check my BIOS to know for sure), but surely upon plugging into the computer, it could start as some sort of virtual memory session?

Heard vista is capable of utilising flash memory as part of the regular memory heap, even that you can hot-plug and remove it. I've heard many things from M$ though.

Memory is cheap enough to use real memory surely. I suppose this is aimed at those too meek to upgrade their memory properly. Gives me weird visions of people attempting to justify why they installed a usb 1.1 hub with 8 ports and have 8 usb flash drives plugged into it.

It's not such a weird vision really...
