A lady said in regard to this story from the BBC, whom BBC News 24 decided represented the voice of rural England.

What? Are my ears deceiving me? Or do I hear another person moaning about nothing? Ten miles away? Like that matters to her, she probably has a Land Rover anyway, most people travel further ner that by bus and train every morning. In fact I cycled further than that everyday when I was in Holland, often in wet and windy conditions! We are talking about Holland after all. Minimum wage? What's wrong with, what is it? A fiver an hour? What's wrong with that? How does £0 x 40hrs per week equate to more worth than £5 x 40hrs per week? Simple maths (maths! MATHS! MATHS! NOT MATH!!!) in my opinion.

Re Link: Who the hell wants blind ass 80 y/old drivers on the road, swerving, inappropriately slow driving, making inappropriate turns. We need affirmative action - Run them all off the road.

However should the same white van have ever screwed with me, he would have had the treatment one dickhead received on Manchester road, my D-Lock through his window - this after hitting me with his extended mirror while cycling.

You are right about 80 year old drivers, they should not be allowed. In fact anyone over the age of 70 should be banned from driving. This age restriction would continue to rise in accordance with Human Evolution.

I would agree that the 80 year old was likely driving far too slowly, as they tend to do, and that in itself is a danger to other road users.

If I remember correctly, the law is that you should stay at the speed limit (neither below it nor above it), yet without fail every day on my return journey to Huddersfield from Dewsbury (across the backs), I will find myself behind cars that are doing 40mph in a 30mph zone, yet when they turn that corner and head onto the very straight 40mph zone, they slow down to 30mph!

Get past the traffic lights at the end of that road, and you're back in a 30mph, at which point they all speed up and do 40mph.

WTF? Fucking jerkoffs.
