What passwords are for and more.

Monday, the 10th of August, 2009 at 11:35pm
"If you have a password on your computer, it shows you have something to hide," some insane woman (possibly a politician) on the phone said to the BBC Radio 5 presenters this morning.

This piece of unintelligent garbage was barely picked up on, other than one presenter noting that he had a password to protect his computer from his children (?! LOL @ a parent trying to stop a child hacking their PC). This was raised during a conversation piece about Privacy often being confused with Security.

Clearly the hosts and guest have no idea about the difference between Privacy and Security, so maybe they should stop discussing it.

This sort of radio presentation is the very stuff that keeps people dumb and insecure.

Soooo, phoo-ee to you again, BBC.

More

Also, just as a tag on, whilst casually glancing across the Huddersfield Daily Examiners free weekly paper, the Weekly News (or whatever it's called now), I noticed on the front page a good story about an old hospital being re-opened, which is nice. However, upon looking at the accompanying photo of the building, I immediately noticed that the two smiling councillors stood in front of it, were not actually there, they had been photoshopped on.

Note to the Examiner staff

I could see the edges around their heads, you crap bastards. Instead of wasting time in photoshop, why not try your hand at a little journalism? And I don't mean the council-arse-licking crap you keep putting out. Are you in the Councils pocket now too?

You could report about the ton of money being wasted on lovely nice jackets with the "Kirklees Council" logo on them being given to council workers. Or perhaps the dressing up of Traffic Wardens to look like Police Officers. Or the fire-drill that the council likes to practice with hundreds of staff, every single week. Or perhaps the way that council workers turn up to jobs and don't actually start any work until after lunch. Yes, they sit there in their big yellow/orange vans, reading the paper and drinking coffee.

And I pay £80 a month council tax for this? Well thank god (there isn't one) I'm going to be a full-time student, I won't have to pay off these corrupt fuckers anymore (well, for three years anyway).

No, there was never a login link down here, unless you weren't logged in, in which case it was the form, the only difference is that the form is showing when you aren't logged in.

I have however, already added Login and Register links above the form, just for such occasions as this.

If you see the reCaptcha in the Preview page, you aren't logged in.

That first paragraph of mine makes very little sense. Let me rephrase it.

The login link is located at the top right in the side bar, a link is also provided just above the comment form, if you are not logged in. If you are logged in, then you will see no login link in either place, but you will see a logout link in the sidebar instead.

I think I made it worse. :\
